Home Energy Connection, LLC strives to make your home function to its maximum energy efficiency while improving your comfort, health and safety.  Since people have different objectives, we offer two levels of Home Energy Performance Audits (BASIC and PREMIUM).  All audits are performed by a Certified BPI Building Analysts and Home Energy Rater (HERS).

Basic Home Energy Performance Audit

The Basic Home Energy Performance Audit is done visually and is designed to provide solutions to known problems and present recommendations to reduce your energy usage and increase your comfort and safety.  It is useful to have the home’s occupant(s) present during the audit so the Rater can understand their general living behaviors as well as educate and offer suggestions during the audit.

• The Basic Home Energy Performance Audit includes:
  • Photograph exterior and interior of home for suspect areas
  • Visual inspection of home’s thermal envelope (insulation, air and duct leakage)
  • Visually inspect for moisture issues (walls, crawlspace, gutters, yard drainage)
  • Visually inspect furnace(s), air conditioner(s) and water heater(s) for problems
  • Inspect ventilation systems (dryer, cooktop and bathroom exhausts)
  • Evaluate lighting efficiency
  • Written report of our findings with recommendations
    • Photographs of problems with descriptive narratives and solutions
    • Recommendations
    • Specifications for repairs
    • Resources to find contractors and suppliers to perform specified repairs
    • Energy efficiency tips to reduce your energy use & impact on global warming
  • Basic Homeowner Consultation

Premium Home Energy Performance Audit

In addition to the Basic Audit, the Premium Home Energy Performance Audit utilizes advanced diagnostic equipment to test all combustion appliances, quantify and pinpoint energy waste, find solutions to your comfort issues and provide recommendations to improve your indoor air quality (IAQ).  These tests may include the use of such tools as a Blower Door, IR Temperature Gauge, IR Thermal Imaging Camera or Duct Blaster.  Our Premium Home Performance Audit provides you with recommendations based on their cost benefit allowing you to make educated decisions on future home repairs and improvements.

  • Combustion testing of all gas appliances
